Earthquake strikes Dominican Republic
A moderate earthquake has shaken parts of the Dominican Republic north of the capital.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1. The epicenter was about 74 miles north of Santo Domingo and 22 miles northeast of San Francisco de Macoris.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Tremors were felt as far away as Cap Haitien in northern Haiti on Monday.
